    The WCHRA is pleased to offer the first course in a series of training opportunities designed specifically for those who are new to HR, those who perform HR-related duties but are not HR professionals, small business owners, and any HR professional who needs a refresher course.

    These courses are as either a half-day training session, followed by 8 weeks of access to our online learning module where students can collaborate with select WCHRA members who are qualified to provide guidance and advice, or as an online course only. Trainees will also receive access to a workbook that will provide detailed directions, tips, and links to resources to help provide continuing education and support.

    These peer-reviewed courses are being developed in partnership between WCHRA, professors from the Colorado Mesa University Business Department, and the law firm of Bechtel, Santo & Severn to ensure that the curriculum is accurate, of the highest quality, and conforms to legal requirements for the State of Colorado and U.S. federal laws and regulations. Additionally, we are working with the Society for Human Resource Management to assign continuing education credit hours to each course.

    Currently, we are developing five courses with topics such as:

    Writing Quality Job Descriptions- Course begins January 10, 2020

    Creating Fair and Equitable Compensation Plans- Course begins March 27, 2020

    Tying Employee Evaluation Systems to Compensation Plans- Course begins June 19, 2020

    Conducting a Wage Audit- Course begins Sept 11, 2020

    Trainees will receive a certificate of completion for successfully completing each course and will receive a special certification from WCHRA if they complete all five courses.
