COSHRM's Workforce Readiness Role
What are the focal points of the COSHRM Initiative?
COSHRM's focus is providing support, information and best practices sharing among the State SHRM chapter workforce readiness committees.
Our key initiatives include:
- Support of nonprofits in their workforce readiness initiatives
- Returning veterans' work search support
- Dropout prevention and Career Counseling
- Providing pathways to employment for people with criminal records
- Helping the long-term unemployed break back into the employment market
- Creating better workplaces through support of the ”When Work Works” award program.
- Support of legislation to improve Colorado work life.
Finally, COSHRM provides an information conduit between the Colorado Department of Labor, SHRM HQ and the local chapters with regard to workforce readiness recommendations and opportunities.
